But he can drive now. In the past week, he has driven his brother to karate, picked his father up at the subway, driven himself to youth group, driven us all home from mass, and just generally been more independent and dare I say it: helpful.
I know that this phase will wear off, but I like it so far!

They grow up fast don't they? My son is planning to borrow his father's car this weekend to drive on his own for the first time. He and his friend want to go to a museum in another city and it is difficult to get there. I've suggested that he borrow the car and drive around here first on his own, just to try it out.
