Simple Woman's Daybook - November 9, 2009

FOR TODAY
November 9, 2009...

Outside my window...the light is just appearing, pink and serene.

I am thinking...about why I wake up every morning with a headache and sore neck.  Possible causes:  dust/allergies, old pillows/mattress, dehydration, tension, too much time in front of the computer (shurely not!).  All through the summer, I took Reactine to deal with seasonal allergies and when I stopped three weeks ago, the headaches began.  Hmmm....

I am thankful for...my family.  I"ll be seeing lots of them over the next couple of months!  My brother and his family are moving to town this week.  My mother is coming to visit in a couple of weeks.  My niece Magali in Montreal is planning a weekend here at the end of the month.  My mother-in-law is coming from Sweden for a month starting Dec 7.  And my sister has been talking about coming down in the next month or so.

I am learning...to enjoy cleaning.  Really.

From the kitchen...I'll make fried rice tonight to use up some leftover rice, and then all the leftovers are GONE.  I've also got some apples that are due to be baked into a crisp.  Or applesauce.  Grocery shopping today for sure.

I am wearing...grey trousers, striped v-neck cotton sweater.

I am creating...some plans for the future.  My theology course will finish next month and I've got some ideas for what I want to start in 2010.  More to follow!

I am going...to get some holiday planning done.  We 're thinking of having another Christmas party, and we'll have lots of family in town this year, so I'd like to get things organized in advance so that I can enjoy the season.  Plus this is a month of birthdays in my family, so I've got some shopping to do for that (and for the couple that I'm behind on, as well!)

I am hoping...that we can get the work done in the dining room before Christmas!  Crown molding, light fixture installed, paint.

I am hearing...the coffee brewing and my dog grooming himself.

Around the house...we're preparing to have my brother and his family stay with us this week as they prepare to move into their house.  I'm looking forward to seeing my nephews and my two month old niece (for the first time!)

One of my favorite things...books in the mail.  Books I've bought.  Books I've mooched. I shouldn't love this....I have too many books and no place for new ones.  But still....

A few plans for the rest of the week: my theology class this morning,  live broadcast of the Times Talk interview with Stephen King tomorrow evening at our local Cineplex (I won tickets!), Wednesday is Remembrance Day and I will likely head down to Queen's Park for the ceremony.  My brother and his family arrive in Toronto early this week and will be staying with us for a few days until they've moved their furniture into their house.   Michael is heading to Kingston on Friday to visit his brother at Queen's for the weekend.

Here is picture for thought I am sharing... This is the release I had to sign to use the paper cutter at my local Staples.  I thought I'd seen everything...

I didn't know you could use a paper cutter at staples. I really need to go and check on having some of our workbooks to be cut and rebound so they are easier to use.
Enjoyed your daybook. Blessing to your week

I would love to know more about your theology class. The one I took at AR Tech lasted three years and covered the whole Bible.Your meal sounds great. I love fried rice. I also love having company. I hope your brother's visit is a lot of fun for all. God bless, Doylene

You're one busy lady. I have family coming for Thanksgiving. I haven't even begun to plan.
I had to sign a release to have my quilts washed, even though they are ready made ones and machine sewn.
Everybody is afraid of being sued.
Apple Crisp sounds good.
