Ten for Tuesday

Another fun set of questions from Chelsea over at Roots and Rings.

1. What gift are you most proud of giving?
Monthly support to my in-laws when we were grad students.  It was almost 10% of our take-home pay, but they needed it.

2. What’s the best gift you ever received?
An interest free loan for our first house.

3. In honor of my husband: What’s the worst injury you’ve ever had?
I've been really lucky.  I broke both my baby toes (at two different times), but the recovery was pretty quick.  Can I count the fallout from childbirth?  You know, down there? Involving stitches?  Oh wait, you haven't had children yet.  I'd have to say breaking my baby toes.

4. They say everyone gets 15 minutes of fame. Who’s 15 minutes has gone on far too long? (The Gosselins are not acceptable answers, be more creative.)
Casey Kasem.  Ok, I just googled him and he retired from America's Top whatever in July, but his voice and some little lisp thing really irritated me.  Was it loose dentures?  Should I even say that?  He is a Lebanese vegan, so that counts for some fame too...okay, maybe an additional 5 minutes.

5. You have 20 minutes and $1000. What do you buy?
I probably can't say gift certificates, right?  Oh man, this is a hard one.  I think it would be an LCD tv for the basement so my son can take his PS3 back downstairs and out of the living room.  Apparently the 10 year old television that he was using completely NEGATES the EXCELLENT graphics of the console.  He can't even READ the writing on the screen.  Oh the humanity.

6. Tell me three blogs that I need to read.
The Pioneer Woman, hands down, Numero Uno.
The Women's Colony, a very close second...make sure you check out the different "rooms".
Conversion Diary.  Because faith and a sense of humour are not mutually exclusive!

7. Would you rather go without pizza or ice cream for the rest of your life?
I'd rather go without ice cream.  I can take it or leave it, to be honest.  But pizza?  With anchovies?  Be still my heart.

8. Would you rather go to a beach or a snowy mountain?
A snowy mountain.  The sun gives me headaches and I am very fair skinned, so I don't "do" beaches (much). Nor do I do snowsports but I like sitting in chalets by a fireplace with a stack of books and a glass of wine.

9. Are you a night owl or a morning person?
Definitely a morning person.  Much to the consernation of my spouse, a typical middle eastern man who starts to party at 10 pm.

10. What word do you always misspell?
Neice.  I just did it again.  Niece.
