- heavy makeup
- people walking around consuming food or drink
- gargantuan portions of food in restaurants
- trash on the street
- taxes added on to purchases (yes, I know, the VAT is included)
- Starbucks
- Bluetooth headsets
- girls in tights with no skirt over top (only on an american school girl in a group)
- much tipping
We did see classy garbage cans...
and Latin on the manhole covers (and pretty much everywhere)...
SPQR is the acronym for Senatus Populusque Romanus (The Senate and the Roman People) and refers to the government of ancient Rome. It's the official motto of the city of Rome and appears everywhere.

Those crazy Romans! At least they can probably be credited with the earliest sewar systems hence first manholes, if not the most logically designed!
